Take the foot off the accelerator

When you are driving really fast. music and air-conditioning on full blast, and the car runs out of gas, and the nearest gas station is 2 kilometers away, what do you do ? Most of the advice would be to keep the speed so you can reach the gas station. But if you do that, instead of gas there will only be hot air to keep the car going and it will stall, and if you were to over confident on the ability to make it to the gas station and you did not even move towards the emergency lane, the car could stall right in the middle of the highway and be run over by other cars coming at high speeds, causing you damage physically and emotionally.

This is the very same principal in life. If you feel that you are moving too fast in life, faster than your ability to grow and mature emotionally and mentally the best thing to do is to slow down.

If you are spending more money then you are making , stop, slow down.

In the situation of the car the best thing to do is, to switch to the emergency lane, reduce your speed so the rpm is between 1000  to 2000, switch off the a/c, wind down the window and take it easy. When you switch off the a/c, you immediately save about 40% of your fuel consumption and when the rotation cycle per minute of the engine is drastically slowed down, so too is the fuel intake. Makes sense right ? But how do I know this ? Simple, you learn, you read about fuel consumption, and you understand how a car works. You don’t have to be a repairman or a mechanic, but understanding the clear fundamentals of how your car works, will save you a lot of trouble.

Same exact scenario when it comes to life. So many people today all over the world get into credit cards and loans without fully understanding how money really works. They get a job that pay 3,000 a month. They realize that they can’t make ends meet, so they get a job that pays more, but they also live higher than the wage that pays more. Eventually this pattern will reach a saturation point and bam, just like the stalled car, life will stall too. Some get out of the stalled situation and get back into the cycle, well a lot of people stay in the rut and fall below in the lines developed by society.

Imagine, if you make a 3,000 a month salary and your take home pay is probably about 2,500. After all your rent’s and bills, you have probably 200 left. But you don’t let that stop you, and you allow credits cards to own your life. Buying and spending on things that you really don’t need. What is the purpose of paying for an annual gym membership, if you attend it once a month ? If you were forced to pay that amount with cash, you would think 3 or 4 times even about doing that. But when you are given the credit card option, you believe in something that has not materialized, and you sign your life over.

STOP ACCELERATING. SLOW DOWN. COOL OFF. TAKE IT EASY.

You only have to live and please yourself, no one else. Don’t live your life on just hot air. Have substance. BE tangible. And when you have the means, then the cruise of life will feel a million times more rewarding.

LIVE BY DESIGN.

SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW, SOMETHING ….. I AM BELIEF

How badly do you want it ? IT. The thing that makes the world go around. IT the substance of life. What is IT ?

IT is that relationship you crave.

IT is the material goods you desire.

IT is the wealth and health you want so much.

IT. We all want IT, we feel like we need IT and we are constantly in search of IT or pursuing IT.

But then some little twit comes along and say’s “Yo, you can’t have IT because you are not all that. He is all that and that’s why he has IT”

And you go, ohhhh yeah, that little twit is right.  WRONG!!!

We all have that, and we don’t need some little twit to come and tell us that we can’t or shouldn’t.

How badly you want IT depends entirely on you.  But the path to IT is not going to be easy. Never has, never will be. Reason being simple, if you were just given IT , then it has no value to you, so you wont appreciate IT. But more important than IT is the process of getting IT. A lot of times when you have IT you realize, hey IT is fine that I have IT now, but IT doesn’t matter anymore. Because you have learned and gained so much experience that IT has just become a reference point in life for you to go to one point of consciousness to another. That’s all there is to IT.

So, you can always get IT at anytime, anyplace and by any means necessary. The question is do you really want IT ?

LIMITATIONS….. CRUSH AND DESTROY IT !

CLIMB THE WALLAn aggressive title I must say. TO CRUSH AND DESTROY. But context. That’s what matters. I AM CRUSHING AND DESTROYING my limitations. That there is good context. LIMITATIONS. A word that has stopped many from truly growing because they see these walls of limitation everywhere they see, everywhere they and in everything they do. It may not show up immediately when you embark on something, be it a job, a relationship or anything else for that matter. Everything that we want to do , we can do. Good or bad, again that’s context. But if your intentions in the context of growth, love and peace, then I guess you are okay, in my books anyway. So what is LIMITATION. Put simply with all the semantics aside, LIMITATIONS are nothing but not knowing. Whatever the situation is, all limitations is just that, not knowing. For example, you want to say….design an app. So you go ahead and draft out the idea of your app. Your research it, you design the look and feel of it. Then you hit that wall of LIMITATION. You realize that you don’t know how to write an app. Oh damn! Then you start getting mad. Then you get sad. Then you get stupid, which is you say the all the time popular looser mantra, “ah well, that’s not meant to be and it probably wouldn’t have been worth it any way, there are better app’s out there and cheaper. I don’t think I would have been able to pull it out”. You go ahead from being an inspired visionary to a depressed and self-defacing moron. I know this how ? Because I have been both. And many times I was the self-defacing moron. But that’s the thing, if you have been an inspired visionary and you have a record of the proof o success of your visions, you can always boot out the self-defacing moron that lives within all of us.

ANYTHING at all and when I say ANYTHING, I mean ANYTHING can be done and done well by ANYONE and I mean ANYONE at all at ANYTIME and I mean ANYTIME. How do I know that ? Because I AM that ANYONE at ANYTIME doing ANYTHING all the time every time. Growing up I was heavily discouraged from favoring arts or sports and was just badgered to learn and study school books. Every hobby I had was mocked and thrashed. When I grew up, I got into a frenzy of working out and for 7 years I worked out every day, twice a day at times and had the body image that I wanted. I was horrible in college as it was an arts college and for years I carried that limitation from childhood with me, and was a below average student. Every time I see my friends with amazing design and artistic skills I felt like I never belonged. Well now, from a graduating class of 20 plus kids of my batch mates only a handful are actually practicing “artists” if you’d will. And I am director and actor and writer and designer and well . I AM an artist too.

EVERYTHING is possible at ANYTIME by ANYONE. Even when you become old and outdated , which I feel sometimes especially these days with the Justin Bieber and Mylie Cyrus generation, I AM still capable of DOING ANYTHING at ANYTIME. All you need is focus and discipline and the drive to do it.

Let me share my simple formula of getting ANYTHING done at ANYTIME by ANYONE with you.

 AAA FORMULA

  1. GET RESOURCEFUL – Stop focusing and whining with what you don’t have currently. HAVING is just an illusion. It is never real. So FOCUS on what is real. YOU in the NOW is the only REALITY hence the only REAL RESOURCES you have is what is with you NOW. USE that, whatever it is. Computer’s, internet, money, people, books whatever it is. BE RESOURCEFUL with the RESOURCES that exist in your life at this moment, because they are there for you to use them for the exact reason you want them for.
  2. FOCUS – This is tough. BUT get through this eventually the FOCUS becomes you and you will just glide through. When you hit a bump FOCUS on the big picture.
  3. BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND – Whatever it is that you are trying to achieve, always begin with how it will be and how you want it to be when you have it. No matter how difficult it seems, have the end in mind. Have a picture of how it should look like and it will help.
  4. HYDRATE– Have water. No SODA”s. Tea is fine. Coffee is ok. But water , plain old H2O is the best. So hydrate. When you are in the creation mode, there is so much energy passing through you if you don’t hydrate, you will burn out and feel lethargic.
  5. GET ALIGNED – During this phase, at all cost’s stay away from toxic individuals. ONLY be around and in contact of positive and likeminded people. (THIS IS THE MOST VITAL STEP). Tune out the toxic people.
  6. IGNORE THE MORON WITH IN– Our biggest enemy, is self-doubt. From time to time the inner self-defacing moron will pop up making you feel lost, hopeless, depressed and as if you can’t do it. SLAP OUT OF IT. I mean if you have to literally SLAP yourself so the pain will misdirect the moron with-in. I mean this. And the moron will pop up a lot when you are used to being doormat in life. As you become stronger, the moron will become a friend.

BE GRACEFUL- Remember, you began this with personal fulfillment in mind. Don’t gloat about, don’t get big headed about it. Just ACCEPT, ADAPT and CHANGE.  ACCEPT that you have what it takes to do what you set out to do, ADAPT to the situations and challenges that pop up and CHANGE the approach to your future decisions and executions of ideas.

Well good luck to all of you, I do hope you actually do it, but then again who decides for you, the INSPIRED and GROWTH oriented you or the inner moron ?

YOU DECIDE. YOU MAKE LIFE HAPPEN.

ROUTINE

I hate that word. As a matter of fact I despise it. In spite all of my big talk about being different; doing things differently and growing personal identity and all that, ROUTINE is something that is vital for personal growth. YES! A daily routine is vital for how your day goes in and out.

Routine helps develop habits. Habits help develop discipline. And discipline develops skills. Skills develop quality. And quality develops incomes and other slew of things that go with it. Nothing and I mean NOTHING happens overnight. Good or bad it’s all a cascading effect, try being late for everyday to work. It will accumulate and you will lose your job.  What if you’re early on time to work every day, that it becomes a habit. And suddenly one day you are late? People start worrying about you. Because your on timely behavior has become a habit and that garnered respect for your punctuality. Hence if you are late it must mean that you are down with something that has prevented you from continuing that routine.

So with all that talk about ROUTINE why is it vital?  If you feel like your life has become staled, then you need a new routine. If you feel stagnant, if you feel there is a lack of growth, if you feel like you are slacking, if your team is slacking, if you just feel you need things to work, my friend start a routine. That eventually becomes a habit. A good habit develops good results and a bad habit…well that just produces really bad results. If you wake up at 6 am every day, exercise, eat a good brekkie, pray, meditate and read or watch something positive and good, do you honestly think that habit over 5 days or 5 years will bring you harm ?

Simple right ? NOW DO IT!   Doing is tough, you may not enjoy the discipline of developing a routine, but hey, the pain of discipline is much less when compared to the pleasure of success.

Don’t whine, this is how the rest of the “NORMAL” world works, a world where there are specific guidelines on how to kill women and children, on how to murder innocent people, a world where it’s OK for big corporate giants to steal billions, screw everyone else in the process and a man who is hungry who steals a loaf of bread gets the harshest punishment possible. A world where it’s OK for billion dollar companies to pour toxic waste into the drains and oceans but is not OK when someone litters on the street. A world where women whose only acclaim to fame and success is that, millions have watched their most intimate acts on the internet, a world where it’s OK for little children to idolize these women, a world where religion can be used to mask murders, rape and genocide but is not OK for someone to defend their rights to individuality.

I AM NEITHER NORMAL NOR DO I WANT TO BE.

CHAPTER 1

NORMALCY …. Really ?

Wake up. Brush your teeth. Poop. Shower. Stop. Soap yourself. Shower. Get dressed, skip breakfast. Struggle through traffic and noise and pollution. Work for 4 hours, hating every minute of it. Anticipate lunch from the moment you clock in. Go to lunch. Eat what you can afford. Go back to work to continue to hate every minute of it. Have a meeting with your boss whom you secretly wish would be struck down by lightning. Suffer through traffic and arrive home. Have dinner. Sleep. Continue this pointless routine for a salary that is just enough for you to continue this meaningless routine.

If you do the above, then you are NORMAL.

Most families, friends and society will expect you to be NORMAL. Being normal is blissful ignorance. Meaning you know what you do or say or eat will eventually cause you so much more pain than this blissful ignorance is giving you. But you want to be NORMAL so bad, to fit in, so you rely on the words of those who have never set foot even for an inch outside of their comfort circles. And then you have these people (FRIENDS, PARENTS, SOCIETY) telling you about world economics, political trend, fashion, entertainment issues and even finance.

Now being a very abnormal person I find that extremely hypocritical and scary to an extent. If someone who guts fish for a living would come and give you advice on surgery you would laugh the person off as being insane. But when someone who is in your circle, but not necessarily qualified or learned in whatever it is that you for some weird reason have decided to get their advice on says something that to them are facts, you accept it, totally blindsided.

Now why is that ?

Because it’s only NORMAL for people to ask for advice from their friends and family.

Listed below are the achievements of ABNORMAL PEOPLE

1.STEVE JOBS – Known as psychotic and deranged to many of his close peers. Revolutionized music and the whole multimedia and the whole computing and video experience.

FOR THE BETTERMENT OF MANKIND

2.HENRY FORD – Was an open ANTI SEMITE. Had a weird personality. Revolutionized modern transportation.

FOR THE BETTERMENT OF MANKIND

3.THOMAS ALVA EDISON –Many who give reports of this man say that he doesn’t seem normal and is extremely obsessed. Gave humanity usable long term sustainable light bulbs and many other inventions. FOR THE BETTERMENT OF MANKIND

And I could continue the rest of this page and book with all this abnormal people and their achievements.

Now lets go to the NORMAL people.

  1. JOE NEXT DOOR – Pays taxes and bills on time. Provides for his family. Never misses a day of work. Achievement? Well nothing much except that he got really sick and his insurance didn’t really cover his bills. So dies leaving his widow and children with bills and mortgages. BETTERMENT OF MANKIND? Not even on the best day of his life.

Maybe not all you normal folks are like this, but quite a few might fit this mould or would eventually fall into a version of this mould.

Now it’s fairly easy to say, hey be different or do something different. Reality may not be the same to everyone, but the choice of being who you are is definitely different for everyone of us. But why is it so important on being different. I mean if everyone who is abnormal becomes normal doesn’t that make everyone normal again in an abnormal way?

Great question, but the answer is simple, NORMALCY that is defined on your own terms and conditions is a better way to be normal. I mean if you feel happy working a dead end job, then great. Don’t try to change yourself for any other reason than yourself. Pressures from people and emotional blackmails from family members, as hard and difficult as they are, are the best kind of virus to kill dreams, hopes and desires. Have you wondered why there are so many miserable people out there in the world today ? They all have lousy families. But that is the thing there is no such thing as a functioning, “NORMAL” family. Everyone is screwed in their own way. It’s how we allow them to affect us that makes the difference.

This is the preview of my next book. When I started writing this, I was in a place where I felt insulted, undervalued, abused, mistreated, unappreciated and worthless. But even in the darkest hour, the lowest moment, the greatest lessons in living is just waiting for you to unearth. This is my gift to all of you my friends. I AM ALL THAT I AM, I AM.
